This project is aiming to create an innovative teaching module for indigenous legal practice. The subjects of which include indigenous title, traditional intellectual property and cultural heritage of indigenous people. First stage of the project is to accumulate case teaching materials, with the coordinating efforts from tribal council, cultural development association and elders of Thau indigenous tribe. Second stage is to initiate the experimental teaching method. Participants of the course will be encouraged to collect and analyze the facts and issues contained in the case materials and receive instructions from indigenous legal practitioners and elders of the tribe. A field trip to the Thau Barawbaw tribe contains interview and clinic activities is also provided during the session. With the teaching module, legal learning will comprise of theoretical narration, case study and field research, with which law students are expected to enhance their understanding and practicing capacity of the specific legal discipline such as indigenous law.
