Taiwanese government supports Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) as the next-generation digital learning. MOOCs are not only for online learning purposes but can also serve as open educational resources for blended instruction or flipped classrooms. An instructor can leverage MOOC as preview materials to have more quality interaction in the face-to-face course for question-and-answer or seminar discussion. This study aims to build up an IoT virtual lab using Augmented Reality and apply the 3-dimensional materials to the IoT course. By manipulating the 3D materials, students can use the sensor structure figure to increase their learning experiences. This system increases accessibility by adopting a web-based AR interface. Learners can use this system without downloading mobile applications. The system is expected to increase student situational interest and curiosity and improve learning interaction in the guided-skill course. The instructor can also benefit from the visualization of the system by browsing the learners’ item responses to increase MOOCs learners’ learning effectiveness.
