Abstract
The balance between economic development and environmental protection is often the focus of controversies. “Environmental Protection” and “Economic Development” are often regarded as the opposite’s sides of conflict. Environmental Economics starts from the economic theory, economic behavior analysis, and mechanism design for the pursuit of sustainable utilization and coexistence of human, environment, and resources. The purpose of environmental economics is to maximize the social welfare, enhance the well-being of all people, and achieve sustainable development; Environmental education puts the emphasis on promoting the environmental ethics and responsibilities of all people, so as to maintain environmental ecological balance, respect lives, promote social justice, and cultivate environmental citizens and environmental learning groups in order to achieve the sustainable development (Environmental Education Act, 2010).Environmental economics is focused on dealing with human behaviors and environmental issues; while environmental education helps our people understand the interdependence of individual, society, and environment (Environmental Education Act, 2010). Environmental economics and environmental education have subtle consistency in their learning objectives, yet a cross-disciplinary integrated innovative teaching method is lacking. In this study a cross-disciplinary innovative teaching plan of environmental economics, management, and education will be designed using game theory, behavior, and experimental economic method to allow students to recognize the theories and knowledge of environmental economics and environmental management and the feelings of economic care under the design and experimental teaching. The execution and design of environmental education plan based on social action and implementation are blended into this innovative cross-disciplinary teaching. It also works together with the deep cultivation plan of our department: “Innovative Environmental Education Teaching Focused on Social Implementation and Globalization” for the innovative education and social implementation of cross-disciplinary teaching.
