Jasin Wong

My research lies at the intersection of special education and occupational therapy. I examine how educational, rehabilitation, and workplace systems can support people with disabilities to participate meaningfully in school and work life. I focus particularly on transitions where support can become fragmented, including the move from early intervention to preschool and from school or university to employment.

My work explores how individual strengths, family expectations, school services, workplace practices, and policy environments shape participation and employment outcomes. I use qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods approaches, and work collaboratively with disabled people, families, educators, rehabilitation professionals, and employers to develop relevant, practical solutions.

My current research develops inclusive pathways from higher education to employment. Through Project FORWARD, I partner with universities and high-technology companies to co-design supported internships for students with disabilities. Across projects, I seek to produce culturally responsive evidence that advances sustained participation and equitable opportunities.
