In our lab, we explore the intersection of cognitive neuroscience, education, and human performance to understand how people learn, adapt, and build resilience. We investigate neural plasticity across diverse populations, including elite athletes, gifted children, Indigenous groups, older adults, and clinical patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), and translate our findings into social and educational settings. To decode the brain's complexities, we use a comprehensive suite of advanced brain imaging techniques, structural MRI, task-based and resting-state functional MRI (fMRI), and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), integrated with rigorous mathematical modeling, finite impulse response analysis, and multivariate approaches such as MVPA and RSA. This massive computational workload is supported by our collaboration with the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), which provides us with cutting-edge AI server infrastructure and computing power to process complex neural data alongside real-world biometric signals from wearable smart rings. Because tackling these multi-layered behavioral, physiological, and neural datasets is incredibly challenging, our research thrives on multidisciplinary collaboration. Whether your expertise lies in computer science, mathematics, engineering, psychology, kinesiology, education, or cultural studies, your unique background can bring fresh perspectives to our data and help us unlock the full spectrum of human potential.
